New York City’s Second Largest Museum
Welcome to New York City’s second largest museum, only being topped by The Metropolitan Museum of Art across the Hudson River.
The Brooklyn Museum contains a vast collection of over 1.5 million individual pieces. With this incredible number of works in storage and on display, whether modern and contemporary art or ancient Egypt, everyone should get their money’s worth.
The building’s five floors are jam-packed with everything that makes an art-loving individual could ever wish for. Whether you want to see European, African, Islamic art or famous works by Picasso or Monet, this is the place where your dreams do come true.
Arguably one of the many highlights that the museum has in store, is its 5,000-square-foot visible storage, located on the building’s fifth floor. Since it is almost impossible to have every piece of their extensive collection on display at the same time, the Brooklyn Museum decided to offer a unique way to experience those pieces left out anyway.
