Overview
The Key West Historic District is a historic district in Key West, Florida. It encompasses most of Old Town Key West and covers an area of approximately 51 acres. The Historic District is known for its well-preserved colonial-style architecture, narrow streets and rich history.
The neighborhood is home to many historic buildings, including mansions, Caribbean frame homes, and Victorian townhouses. Some of the most notable attractions in the Historic District are the Ernest Hemingway Home and Museum, the Harry S. Truman Little White House, and the Audubon House and Tropical Gardens. These buildings and museums offer insight into Key West’s history and culture.
The Historic District is also known for its lively atmosphere and numerous restaurants, bars, galleries and shops. Duval Street, one of Key West’s main thoroughfares, stretches through the Historic District and offers vibrant nightlife and shopping.
