The Zoo

Established in 1926, the Cheyenne Mountain Zoo in Colorado Springs is one of the oldest privately owned zoos in the United States. The zoo is known for its stunning location on the slopes of Cheyenne Mountain and its remarkable animal exhibits.

The zoo currently houses a diverse collection of over 750 animals from more than 170 species from around the world. Look forward to lions, giraffes, elephants, bears, monkeys, reptiles, birds and many more.

One of the main attractions at Cheyenne Mountain Zoo is the Mountaineer Sky Ride, a cable car that takes visitors on a scenic ride through the zoo and over the animal enclosures. It’s the perfect spot to enjoy spectacular views of the animals and the surrounding countryside.
