Home of the Great American Race
The Daytona International Speedway is a motorsports complex like no other. One of Florida’s prime racing venues, the 2.5-mile tri-oval superspeedway is a crown jewel in any championships’ calendar.
In what can safely be considered an absolute highlight that is held at the Daytona International Speedway is, among other things, the famous Daytona 500. The event traditionally heralds the NASCAR Cup season.
The “Great American Race” is comparable to the Indianapolis 500 in terms of importance for its participating teams and drivers. Even if a driver never manages to win a single race ever again – a victory at the 500 comes attached with legend status for life.
In addition, if you’re a fan of endurance racing, you can look forward to the Rolex 24, which takes place on the final weekend of January to kick off the motorsports season. The tough-as-nails 24-hour endurance race uses both parts of the oval layout and the infield road course.
