Best Time to Visit Big Bend National Park

It is recommended to visit Big Bend National Park in the spring or fall, when temperatures are most pleasant in both the lowlands and the higher elevations of the park. In the summer months, however, the scorching heat can quickly make a trip unbearable. With temperatures often exceeding 100°F, you should limit activities in the park to the early morning or late evening hours.
