Overview
Located at Dakota Wesleyan University, the Dakota Discovery Museum is a museum in Mitchell, South Dakota, dedicated to preserving and disseminating the history and culture of Native Americans, pioneers, settlers, and other cultures of the Great Plains.
Established in 1969, the museum houses an impressive collection of artwork, artifacts, photographs, and other historical objects depicting the history of the Dakota region and its people.
